The Deep Dark Quencher 2 is a dark and non-fluorescent quencher, based on the diaminoanthraquinone Disperse Blue 3 and can be incorporated into oligonucleotides at the 5’-terminus and the 3’-terminus. This quencher has a broad absorbance spectrum (ranging between 570 and 680nm) centered around 650nm which effectively overlaps the emission maxima of popular reporter dyes, especially long wave emitters, such as TAMRA, Cy^®3, ROX, and Cy^®5.
