[13C6]-Sulfamethoxazole

Sulfamethoxazole is an antibiotic used to treat several bacterial infections, including urinary tract infections, bronchitis, and prostatitis. It is also effective against both gram-positive and negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Listeria monocytogenes. Sulfamethoxazole is now mostly used in combination with Trimethoprim for the treatment of urinary tract infections.
Stable isotope labeled [13C6]-Sulfamethoxazole is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of Sulfamethoxazole by LC or GC-mass spectrometry.
