[D4]-N-acetyl sulfamethoxazole
N-acetyl sulfamethoxazole is the main metabolite of sulfamethoxazole. It has no antibacterial activity but can cause nephrotoxicity (crystalluria and haematuria) when its concentration is above 75 mg/L.
Stable isotope labeled [D4]-N-acetyl sulfamethoxazole is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of N-acetyl sulfamethoxazole by LC or GC-mass spectrometry.
