Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat numerous bacterial infections, including joint infections, meningitis, pneumonia, sepsis, urinary tract infections, malignant otitis externa, Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, and vibrio infection. This β-lactam is given into a vein, muscle or eye.
