DMG-PEG 2000 is a synthetic lipid excipient synthesized by PEGylation of myristoyl diglyceride. DMG-PEG 2000 is used in combination with other lipids to prepare lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for mRNA vaccines such as the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine as well as the encapsulation of siRNA. The incorporation of DMG-PEG 2000 in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) renders the nanoparticle surface hydrophilic and electrostatically neutral.
