Synthetic lipids
NucleoSyn produces and supplies synthetic lipids from milligrams to multi-kilos quantities.
Nucleosyn produces and supplies synthetic lipids from milligrams to multi-kilo quantities.
Well-characterized, these synthetic lipids are identical to their natural analogues and are well-defined, free of other lipids, non-lipids, and bacterial/viral contamination. Nucleosyn has developed extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in the R&D of new lipid-based products, high-quality phospholipids, and other related compounds that are increasingly used as key substances (excipients, critical materials, etc.) in drug formulations, drug delivery, or the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Synthetic lipids play an important role as transfection agents. One of the most notable examples is the transfection of mRNA by LNP (Lipid NanoParticles), a technology used in modern vaccines, such as the COVID-19 vaccine.
Nucleosyn offers in its catalogue most of the lipids that could be used for the transfection of nucleic acids, and we have developed an expertise in the synthesis of cationic ionizable lipids (DLin-MC3-DMA, C12-200…), cationic permanently charged lipids (DOTAP, DOTMA…), and also other structural and/or helper lipids (DSPC, DOPE, Cholesterol derivatives…).
